Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Course:

The Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course can have a number of positive medical and psychological benefits for people suffering from chronic pain, sleep problems, fatigue, anxiety/panic attacks, depression, fibromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome, headaches, and stress. The ultimate goal of the MBSR workshops is to reduce stress. 

The MBSR workshop teaches you how to:

  • Focus your attention
  • Be more present in your life
  • Be non-judgmental
  • Learn how to identify your stress and reactive patterns 
  • Learn new ways to respond to challenges in order to reduce stress

This is done by learning how to pay attention internally to the mind and body, exploring thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations through a variety of mindful meditations, including the Body Scan, Awareness of Breath, and gentle Mindful Movements, such as beginner yoga and walking meditation. 

The MBSR workshop consists of 8 sessions (2 hours and 30 minutes each) and one day-long Retreat Day and there is one hour of homework each night.

Mindful Performance Enhancement Awareness & Knowledge (mPEAK):

mPEAK is a cutting edge program designed for elite athletes to increase their peak performance. Whether you’re in competition mode, coming back from an injury or just looking to improve your game or sport, mPEAK workshops teach you how to implement mindful meditation techniques, to be present and reach optimal performance.

Elementary and Adolescent Mindfulness Education and Training:

We offer mindfulness training and education for teachers and students in the K-12 school setting. This curriculum, based on the approach from  Mindful Schools, can be woven into any existing classroom programming and teaches Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and increasing attention and awareness. Teachings can be adapted as needed for all abilities. 

Individual Counseling:

Journey Mindfulness also offers individual counseling sessions. You have the option to receive counseling online from the comfort of your own home, or in our quaint offices located in Ellicott City, Maryland.
